چکیده

This research examines the strategic impact of enterprise systems (ES) from a dynamic capability perspective. This perspective, which evolves from the resource-based view of the firm, suggests that performance differences among firms in an industry is related to a firm’s capability in creatively configuring, coordinating, integrating, and transforming firm resources. ES is considered a valuable organizational resource. Its strategic value arises from its acquisition, deployment, and effective utilization. In this research, a capability framework that highlights ES capabilities critical to generating outstanding ES value is presented. Three ES capabilities identified in the proposed model are: IT infrastructure, change management, and knowledge management. Using a questionnaire survey we examine the strategic impact of ES capabilities on ES outcomes. The quantitative analysis suggests a positive relationship between the three ES capabilities and ES outcome.
